Description: The inner bark of the Pau D’Arco tree has been used for centuries by traditional South American healers. Compounds isolated in the bark have demonstrated antibacterial, antiviral, anti-parasitic and anti-inflammatory properties — making it one of the more studied herbs in the Amazonian pharmacopoeia. Earthy and slightly bitter, best simmered rather than steeped.
